[20/11/09 News] Myolie Wu has no chance for Best Actress, but is getting more exposure

In a snowy situation wearing a wedding dress baring shoulders and arms, but Myolie had no complaints.

Myolie had a happy birthday celebration with her colleagues and staff in Hokkaido.

Although Myolie Wu could take part to go after Best Actress title with “Burning Flame 3”, but because Sheren Tang and Charmaine Sheh have higher votes, she would lose on the number counts. In addition she has earlier on went to Hokkaido for filming, she had to wear a wedding gown during winter season, but she was professional and even said that it was romantic.

Myolie Wu has been very busy recently, she went to Hokkaido earlier to film the drama series “The Morning of Flying Fish in Hanami”. When she returned to Hong Kong, she continue to film commercials and participate in the TVB Anniversary Gala show. As this year’s competition is very high, Myolie being voted as Best Actress for “Burning Flame III” does not seem to be in favour because of the vote counts. When asked about her confidence, she takes the easy way and said “I will continue to work hard, I have participated in Miss Hong Kong Pageant in 1999, I have entered into this industry for 10 years. My target as Best Actress is definitely one of them, but there are other targets as well!”

Actually Myolie is now keen in developing her singing career and breaking into the Mainland market, seriously aiming high, she said “I have filmed one Mainland drama series this year, collaborating with Ruby Lin, and I know that the Mainland market is really big.”

Myolie hugged Chilam happily, wonder if she’s scared Bosco Wong will be jealous?

In addition, Myolie has recently did her 3rd year collaboration with skin care brand ISQUEEN. Besides increasing her pay, Myolie said that she is also very satisfied with her make-up style in her own advertisement, “Because my make-up is very heavy when doing shoots for my album, this time the feeling is much better.” As for interesting things that happened during the filming in Hokkaido, Myolie expressed that the most memorable is to film a scene in a wedding gown in the snow and she even had to bare her shoulders and arms for that. 6 November was Myolie’s birthday, she had a lively birthday celebration in Hokkaido. When asked if her rumoured boyfriend Bosco Wong did SMS to wish her, Myolie immediately avoided the question and said “A lot of staff celebrated my birthday with me, and there was one Japanese guy who gave me flowers!”

Earlier on, Myolie Wu filmed the skin care brand ISQUEEN advertisement with a simple tanktop and pure look. This is her third year collaborating and her pay increases. Besides filming for advertisement, Myolie was busy participating in the TVB Anniversary Gala show. Myolie who was voted as Best Actress for “Burning Flame III”, reckons that she will lose because of the vote counts. But she laughed and said that she would change her goals “Being Best Actress is of course one of my goals, but there are other goals! As for singing, I think I can go on higher heights.”

In addition, Myolie had flew to Hokkaido earlier on for drama shooting. Even though the place was very snowy and yet she had to wear a wedding dress, but she was not scared. Besides having to hug her partner Chilam to gain warmth, she even said “Very romantic!” Myolie spent her birthday in Hokkaido, there were fellow staff crew who celebrated her birthday with her. When asked if her rumoured boyfriend Bosco Wong did send her an SMS to wish her, Myolie avoided the topid and said “There was a Japanese guy who gave me flowers.”

Myolie’s birthday hit on filming in Hokkaido, all filming crew celebrated her birthday.

Myolie Wu has been busy recently, she has just returned to Hong Kong from Hokkaido for filming. During the period, she had filmed a wedding scene with Chilam in the snow, although she had to bare her shoulders and arms. As it was also Myolie’s birthday then, the entire crew celebrated her birthday with her. When asked if rumoured boyfriend did wish her via SMS, Myolie avoided the topic and said “Many staff cut birthday cake with me, there was a Japanese guy who gave me flowers!”

After returning to Hong Kong, Myolie was busy shooting for commercials and attending the TVB Anniversary Gala. This year’s competition is more intense. Myolie being nominated as Best Actress for her role in “Burning Flame III”, Myolie admitted that she was prepared to lose but she said “I will continue to work hard. Ever since I participated in Miss Hong Kong Pageant in 1999, I have been in this industry for 10 years now. Being Best Actress is of course my goal, but I have other goals as well!” The goal which she was referring to is singing. In addition, Myolie has also collaborated with a skin care brand ISQUEEN for three years, and she said that her pay did increase.

[19/10/09 Interview] Myolie Wu: Bosco Wong is not the right man

She is one of TVB fadans, and has spent her youth years in Northern Ireland capital of Belfast. Once she wanted to be a doctor, and has studied biochemistry at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. But because she was chosen at Miss Hong Kong Pageant, thus entering the entertainment industry. She and Bosco Wong have had their rumours for 4 years. In her eyes, he is just a “rumour”, and is not the man she is seeking for. Inside the VIP room for the event Rubis Chambre De Beaute in Suzhou, Myolie is looking forward to her real love.

Wanted to be a doctor
Myolie Wu was born in a middle-class family, her father is a civil servant. His allowance enabled his children to study abroad, thus Myolie has chosen a relatively less costly school fees in Northern Ireland capital of Belfast. When Myolie was a student at that time, her academic performance was good. After completing her high school, she returned to Hong Kong for sit examinations in order to enter Hong Kong University of Science in Biochemistry. “My results was alright when I was young, because my language is not good when I just arrived in Northern Ireland, some I couldn’t keep up with the progress. After that there was one Hong Kong student who came, she was excellent in all aspects. So I treat her as my imaginary enemy in my heart, and then I slowly managed to catch up with her.” Even though the results were good, but Myolie has some regrets pertaining to her academic studies. “I really want to study medicine, and be a doctor. But I did not sit for the examination. Otherwise today I might be sitting in the clinic, and not sitting here to accept an interview.”

At her first year in University, Myolie and her classmate participated in the Miss Hong Kong Pageant. After achieving 2nd runner-up, Myolie had not decided whether she should enter the entertainment industry. “The professors helped me. They said that they could help me to retain the student status. If I feel that my progress is not that good, I can go back to study. Moreover, my school and TVB are very near, just beside one another.” And this, Myolie started her pathway as an artiste. Two years later, after seeing herself being progressive in the entertainment industry, she decided to drop out of school. “I feel that being in this line is also quite good, and I also feel quite bad to have my name in the school list.”

Rumoured boyfriend is not the right man for her
Myolie’s life is still relatively simple till today, the one that occupy most of her spare time is her 9 cats at home. It is said that people who like cat will usually tend to be lonely. Myolie laughed “Then I must be very lonely! Those who like cat may not be so enthusiastic, and also scared to get close to people. Just like me, sometimes I do not know how to communicate with others, I am scared until it will let people to think that I have any motives or pretenses.”

The reporter asked her if she is really lonely? She answered “In Hong Kong magazines always report that my life is quite fun-filled, but in reality I do not lead that kind of life.” Obviously such an answer is not satisfactory. After several times, she finally faced up questions from the reporters, and talked about her 4-years rumours with TVB male artiste Bosco Wong. “Frankly speaking, he is just my rumoured boyfriend, and not the right man for me. Because there are too many women who like him, and I want a have a sense of security. Need not be wealthy, but must be self-motivated. When we work hard, we will definitely earn enough money. Who does not like money? But it depends on how to earn it.”

There was once a guy who touched her heart, but in the end they broke up. “It’s my fault, I missed it. He appeared not the most appropriate time. Two people meet too early, and maybe broke up because of that. When meet too late, maybe the other half has appeared. Moreover, I was more greedy when I was young rather than now. And will keep thinking if I am not sure if I can meet a better guy.” When asked Myolie what kid of guys can touch her heart? “Mature, interesting, caring, able to take care of me, taller than me, bigger than me, and of course he must also like cats. So how, do you have a good guy to introduce me?”

[04/10/09 Interview] Myolie plays with transformation

Chilam and Myolie were originally unrelated. But recently because of their duet and often seeing each other, has created many sparks.

Myolie Wu was the second runner-up in Miss Hong Kong Pageant 1999. She likes acting and would always try different roles. The most unforgettable role was in 2002 for “Golden Faith” acting as the mentally retarded sister Ding Sin Yan, as well as 2006 series “To Grow With love” as Ho Mei Tin who was 200 pounds. Being an artiste, having to sacrifice, she does not gained the like at first sight among audience. But Myolie likes to take up challenges, and would keep changing for transformation. Perhaps this is the saying whereby, she may be those examples whereby girls take on Biochemistry courses to prove that “girls in Science courses are extremely tough”.

Singing duet to challenge oneself
Out of the doll box, Myolie released her EP last year, and now she is no longer a newbie. In order to challenge herself, she was recently being invited to duet a 90’s song called 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” with Chilam. She said “I listened to alot of Chilam’s songs when I was still studying and many of his duets are classics. I never thought that I will have the chance to sing with him and I really feel very honored! We entered the recording room, at first we were recording separately, I sat in the producer’s room and listened to his recording first. Chilam’s voice really has alot of feelings! After receiving the song lyrics, I looked at the lyrics and felt that it was very touching with the melody. The content is about relationships should not be draggy，must break free and be firm. Chilam sang out with that kind of feeling, it helps to bring my feelings too!” Chilam who was beside her was embarrassed that he smiled, and his right cheek surfaced a dimple which could make people elated, no wonder Myolie was yearning for it.

Grow older become soft-hearted
Myolie who will be 30 yrs old next month, has once placed her love life first in her heart, who was held entirely by love. Growing up has changed her, “Work, friends and traveling have broaden my horizons, this world is big. Family and friends are more important!” Encounters can change someone. Did her good friend Bosco Wong brought about a change in her? She laughed first before saying “I used to be very firm, but now that I grow up, I procrastinate more and more! People grow up, sometimes it is not under your control; experienced more, realised that the time is too little, wish to treasure all, in the end became I am not firm enough, easily soft-hearted! Not just love, I am very easily soft-hearted to my friends, family and my 9 cats!”

Postscript: Food universal
The reporter was at the scene, first she said hello to Chilam, he gestured 2-inch lengths and said “Today i only drank a small cup of wheatgrass juice. I’m really hungry and high and can go into position already!” After that seeing Myolie who have just finished eating a big bowl of noodles , she was putting on her make-up and said “Very full, very satisfying, can go into position now!” Food can be a driving force, whether hungry or full!

Myolie has gone two sides in recent years, her changing image has given her a fresh feeling.

Myolie has gained 20 pounds for this drama series, which caused a stir.

The relationship with Bosco Wong is complicated and confusing, both parties did not admit or deny.

[23/08/09 Interview] Myolie Wu – I want to buy a big house

Yes, this good-looking Raymond Lam is also turning 30 years old, and there’s Myolie, Tavia, Bernice, Kate, Niki. Those beautiful ladies you see onscreen, are also turning 30 years old this year.

“In life where is there few decades? Most important is to be happy!”

Those who did chase HK drama will know this year most hits drama “Rosy Business” which contains the golden words of Chai Gau. This sentence, no matter how difficult life experiences are, from a poor worker to a fierce and ambitious Char Gau. Wayne Lai mentioned that only at 40 will one be free from perplexities and the talents mature from then, and the experiences are touching.

This year is the most challenging year for all the films, as most people asserted that “Do not expect to be popular in the Hong Kong entertainment industry when you are not 40 years old!” It is sure that the current younger TVB generation siusang fadan don’t have this luck. However, TVB Raymond Lam, Myolie Wu, Bernice Liu, Kate Tsui etc will be hitting the big “3″ this year. “Wars of In-Laws”

Myolie stepped into the entertainment circle after winning 2nd runner-up in the Miss Hong Kong Pageant at the age of 19 and has always been steadily promoted by TVB. But her “pained expression” and bitter face expression was being criticized by the netizens, thus they created a nickname for her “胡囧囧”

In fact besides sadness, Myolie Wu has many impressive performances especially in both the ancient and modern versions of “Wars of In-Laws”, her acting in the drama with Liza Wang made her very popular.

3 plans:
First – Buy a big house
To treat myself better, I will buy another house. Before that I’ve already bought a house for my dad, now hoping to buy one for myself. I have 9 cats at home, and for their sake, I need to buy a new house too. But this doesn’t mean that I want to have a family, buying a house on my own is very practical.

Second – Set up a snack shop
Have a small business will allow myself to have a more stable source of income. I am a person who loves to eat, I am very fond on those snacks on the streets, that’s why I would like to set up a snack shop specially for fishballs etc. The shop size need not be so big, just do a simple take-away for it will do. But must certainly work happily and make it delicious. At present these are just my dreams, there’s no real actions to it yet.

Third – Have a concert
Singing has always been my dream. Currently my second album will be releasing at the end of the year, but it is only part of my dream because I would love to have a concert. Hopefully this dream can be fulfilled in two to three years time at the Hong Kong Coliseum. If it is a mini concert, hopefully it can be fulfilled within one to two years. For the concert at the Coliseum, I will sing many songs, wear a lot of costumes, making this a memorable event.

Before 30 years old:
Something you are most proud of?
Myolie: I do not waste any opportunity every time, I would work hard for it which made me feel there is no regrets.

Most regrettable thing?
Myolie: Work too hard, and did not enjoy the happiness and life I had. I would want to change this.

Most favourite role?
Myolie: As a lawyer Chung Ching Ling in “Survivor’s Law”. Because this role is very cool, unlike all the other roles which are quite sad.

Something which you want to do but did not?
Myolie: The things which I want to do, I will do it so there’s nothing currently.

Most admired actors?
Myolie: Gong Li, because she is a “drama spirit”, every role that she acts is refined.

How do you celebration your birthday?
Myolie: Did not think of it at all. Just like I did not celebrate my 20th birthday. If have the time and it doesn’t clash with my work, perhaps I will ask my best friends and family out for a dinner to celebrate.

What birthday present do you give yourself?
Myolie: Buy a house. Besides this, I am already pampering myself with many things on normal days.

What kind of actress do you hope to turn into?
Myolie: Do not wish to accept any “good girl” roles. Hope to try out a role that plays a stronger girl.

What occupation do you want to be if you’re not an actress?
Myolie: Singer. If not in an entertainment industry, I will focus on being a lady boss for a snack shop.

After 30 years old:
At what age do you intend to get married?
Myolie: See when I can get to meet my Mr-Right, all depends on fate. Being an artiste, actually 30-years old is still young.
