[11/12/09 Interview] Myolie Wu in tip-top condition to meet fans

Myolie Wu did not think of getting award this year.

Myolie Wu who has just launched her new album, has been very busy recently. She had to continuously promote her new album, and she had to attend promotional events for her new drama series “A Chip Off The Old Block”. Moreover in the upcoming weekend, Myolie will be holding her mini concert. With her being so busy in promotions, she still had to find time to practice singing and dancing, and hopes to meet her fans in her tip-top condition.

The concert will be coming soon, how will Myolie display all her talents and efforts? She said “I have done full preparations for this concert, and I am hoping to meet my fans in my best state. Besides dancing, of course I will be singing on that night. In order not to have stage fright, I had earlier on bought a Hi-Fi, I will practice singing at home when I have time. On the other hand I can also be familiar with the song lyrics, and also I can record when I am singing, and then listen to the recording on how my singing goes, see which area I can sing with more emotions, or in which area I can sing mildly or others.” When asked if she is nervous? Myolie admitted that it is still alright, but she is more worried about the dancing part. She said “Instead I am not afraid of singing, because most of the songs are my songs, a small part will be singing other artistes’ songs. But this time for my mini concert, I will be dancing for about 2 to 3 minutes, now I am practicing really hard, I am afraid I may forget the dance steps, afterall dancing is not my strength.”

After launching her new album, do her fans have any comments on it? Myolie laughed saying “Although I did not directly ask them, but some fans do like it, especially in this album I had personally composed the lyrics of the Mandarin song o f《靈魂伴侶》”Soul Mate”. They felt very surprised after hearing it, and said that they didn’t expect the lyrics to be so well-written, and were very satisfied with the song. Haha!” Myolie then said she has greater confidence in the future.

Afterall entering the music industry for quite some time, Myolie was asked whether or not she had thought of this year end’s music awards (to get award) to be the same as last year whereby she got her Newcomer award, and if she can improve in it? Myolie admitted “Having to enter the music industry for the second year, I have no thought of winning. After all I am no longer in the newcomer category whereby I am only competing with a few or more than 10 people. But now I am already an “old person”, and have to compete with many powerful singers, there is a level of difficulty, so I will not hold too much hope, I will be very happy being able to attend the event.”

[11/12/09 Interview] Not afraid to compare with others, Myolie Wu wishes to release a Rock genre album next year

Myolie has been spending more time in practicing singing and dancing, and is also looking forward to the launch of her second album, and she hopes that she will be able to release her third album next year. What kind of songs will Myolie like to present to her fans for next year? She said “I hope to sing more fast songs, dance songs. In fact I have been hoping to sing more Rock types of songs. Firstly I also like rock and roll, secondly I would like to try dancing and singing at the same time. This is a new try, and I also hope to display a different Myolie in front of my fans.”

However Linda who has also entered the music industry, and has also released her album almost the same time as Myolie. When asked Myolie if she feel the competition has increased? She said “There is always competition, but it is the friendly type, but I will not go and compare, because everybody is different individual, have their own style.” Myolie said that although there are many artistes who are like her having enter the music industry while in the acting industry, but this is a good thing, it proves that this circle has many hidden talents, as one can act as well as sing too. This is something to be worth happy about. “An all-rounded artiste has to excel in all areas, I cannot say that because for fear of competition thus I give up on something. This will not only regress, but also lose the opportunity to showcase other talents.”

Having to form bonds with Chilam again
In Myolie’s new album, she collaborated with Chilam for their duet song《一刀兩斷》 ”A Clean Break”, this made Myolie very surprised. Both come together because of the song and now because of filming, they both went to Hokkaido for drama shooting last month. After three weeks of “seeing day and night”, Myolie admitted that both understand each other very well. She laughed and said “The first time we duet was when both of us did not know each other well, at first I thought that he was a quiet person. But after this Hokkaido trip, he is actually very naughty, always playing tricks on people.”

Myolie said that during the three weeks of shooting period, the set rises as early as 5am in the morning. Because every morning we had to get up around 3am to 4am to make-up, and plus the weather was very cold, it was quite torturing. She revealed that in one of the scenes she had to wear a wedding dress baring her shoulders at this kind of weather, she was like fighting with the cold weather. Myolie laughed “After flying to Tokyo for shooting, I would go shopping when I had the time, and also ate a lot of local cuisine. I would gain some weight after returning to Hong Kong.” Also during the shooting period, Myolie and the crew celebrated her birthday for her! “All of us wenr to eat buffet to celebrate, really very happy!”

Myolie Wu and Cheung Chilam attended last night’s Christmas lighting ceremony, creating the festive atmosphere.

Last night Myolie Wu and Cheung Chilam were at Hollywood Plaza for the Christmas lighting ceremony, as well as it was also Myolie’s new album release press conference. Both duet their love song.

As Myolie’s new album will be releasing today, Chilam said “I will also release my album next week, hope that she will also help me to buy to get to platinum, everyone will be good.”

He said that earlier when he went to Hokkaido for filming with Myolie, he ate non-stop, while Myolie constantly bought clothes, “Really cannot underestimate women, everyone was feeling very tired after filming, she could still go shopping.”

Myolie Wu and Cheung Chilam will be filming till new year, so both will most likely be spending Christmas together.

Myolie Wu and Cheung Chilam were filming a drama series together. Both had earlier went to Hokkaido for outdoor filming. Myolie laughed saying that her impression of Chilam had vanished.

Myolie Wu being the ambassador of a slimming company, and because she had to shoot a new series of advertisement, even if seeing Hokkaido’s good food, she had to resist. On the other hand, Chilam who tried the local food and his luck is going quite well, Myolie could not help but wanted to complain. Myolie also revealed that the filming will finish till past new year, so she will most likely spend Christmas with Chilam. By then they may want to hold a party to celebrate.

Myolie never thought that Chilam is so mischievous, and is a “big devil child”

Myolie Wu and Cheung Chilam attended the event “My Deer Christmas Town” Christmas lighting ceremony at Hollywood Plaza last night. It also coincides with the launch of Myolie’s new album, thus the new album release press conference was also held last night. Both of them duet their song, and had also went to Hokkaido earlier on for drama shooting, and they have become good friends. Myolie laughed saying that at first she thought Chilam is a refined handsome guy, but in fact he is very mischievous, always playing tricks on people, no wonder his son is a “magic child” because he is also a “big devil child”. However Myolie said that he has not played a trick on her temporarily yet, but she didn’t dare to say too much because they still have to work together for two months.

Chilam crazily eats thus gaining weight
Chilam said that after returning from Hokkaido, he had gained more than a dozen pound after trying on the local food “lard ramen”. He has also become “God of Cookery” after returning to Hong Kong. A few days ago in Macau, he has bought a lot of dried pork back to Hong Kong to treat the staff. It also happened on the day of the filming that they had to eat sashimi. Michael Miu and Stephanie Che who were filming next door gave them food to eat too. He said that he has to lose weight now, and his wife Anita Yuen is not in Hong Kong now, therefore there were no complaints. However, because Myolie had to shoot a slimming advertisement, so she had to resist the temptation of Hokkaido’s food, but instead she shopped crazily.

Myolie released her second album yesterday, she said that she was not so nervous this time round. Chilam who was standing beside her said that he will support her, and also said that he will buy her album until there is a platinum figure sale. His album will release on 30 November, Myolie laughed saying “Then I will also buy till you have platinum sale la.” When asked Myolie if she will give her new album to Bosco Wong? She said that she will buy many of her albums to give to friends as Christmas gifts, but hopes that her friends will also buy another one to support her.

[25/11/09 News] Host for lighting ceremony, Myolie and Chilam reminded of the past memories

Cheung Chilam and Myolie Wu attended Christmas lighting ceremony.

Cheung Chilam and Myolie Wu attended the event “My Deer Christmas Town” lighting ceremony at Hollywood Plaza at Diamond Hill. Both of them were very excited, and saw the Christmas town as well as the reindeers and others. It was such a romantic scene, and reminded them of the great memories when travelling overseas. The most special was the 9 little reindeers with different personalities and different images appearing on stage. Chilam said “I would always hope to come to the playground to ride the merry-go-round when I was young, now I would like to ride it again once more. This year re-entering the music industry, and have to film series, my work is more busy than before, so my Christmas wish is to celebrate with my family and friends on the very day, indulging in the wonderful Christmas dinner.”

Myolie Wu said “Sitting on this little angel deer is just like a paradise in a foreign place, and it reminds me of the times when I was studying abroad. Though I wish to spend a romantic white Christmas, but I have to work on Christmas every year and there are no holidays till now, and I hope I can have one or two days off for Christmas.”

Myolie and Chilam sang LIVE, and both had recently wet to Hokkaido for filming. Chilam had gained more than 10 pounds, he said “In Hokkaido during filming, I constantly ate lard ramen, sashimi and sushi.” Myolie also said “Before knowing Chilam, I thought that he is a gentle guy. But after knowing him more, I think that he is a big child. His son is called devil child, he should be called big devil child!”

Cheung Chilam and Molie Wu attended last night’s “My Deer Christmas Town” lighting ceremony. When the reporters said that Chilam’s luck is going quite well, he said that earlier on he had gone to Hokkaido with Myolie Wu, Tavia Yeung, Michael Tse and others for filming. He had gained 10 pounds, and laughed that he could be the successor of Kent Cheng. He said “I ate lard ramen when I was in Hokkaido! When I was in Macau for work, I bought many souvenirs to share with my colleagues. But who knows that during filming, I had to eat sashimi and sushi. At the same time, Michael Miu and Stephanie Che were filming next door, and they gave him a big bag of barbecued pork bun.”

Myolie was also there for her new album press conference and had duet a song with Chilam. It also coincided with Myolie’s launching of her new album, thus there was a press conference as well. Both of them duet a song and had recently went to Hokkaido for filming, and now have become good friends. Chilam said that he will definitely buy CDs to support Myolie, and will buy her CDs until it hit platinum sales. Because Chilam’s new album will be releasing end of this month, Myolie laughed saying “Then I will also buy yours till you have platinum sales la!” When asked Myolie if she will be giving her CD to Bosco Wong, she laughed saying that if friends then should buy more to support her.

Chilam joked that filming in Hokkaido had gained him more than ten pounds because his favourite local food there was “lard ramen”. However because Myolie had to shoot slimming advertisements, so she had to endure the good food in Hokkaido, instead she shopped crazily, returning home with a full load. After collaborating many times, Myolie finally understands why Chilam’s son is a devil child, because he himself is a “big devil child”, always loves to play trick on people. However Myolie joked that she did not dare to say much because he hasn’t played tricks on her yet. Moreover they still have two months to work together.

Myolie Wu previously shot an advertisement wearing bikini, looking very seductive.

Myolie Wu has wore a swimsuit to shoot an advertisement as a spokesperson for a company. Recently she has shoot a sliming advertisement, this time taking a more high-class route, no longer wearing bikini. Although the image is more conservative than the previous time, but the pay has increased instead. When being asked if she will follow Chrissie Chau to release human-figure pillow or toothbrush to make some money, she stated that she is not brave enough and does not have the ability.

Myolie has recently flown to Japan to film for new drama series, but she had no chance to rest after returning to Hong Kong. A few days ago, she went to Chai Wan to shoot a slimming advertisement. In fact Myolie has already filmed for slimming advertisement. During that time, she wore a bikini, but the modeling style is not any better. In fact she only wore low cut with short skirt, though it is more conservative than the previous time. Myolie said “I am having a refreshing feeling this time round, the company has always been carefully to help me select, the most important is to look pretty and be healthy.”

Myolie admits that the consumers will trust the ambassadors, so she values the company’s credibility and effectiveness. When asked if she had tried before, she said “I have just came back from Japan for filming. Besides filming, I usually eat, drink and have fun. Saying the truth, I have gained a little weight, so when I came back, I will take every chance to lose weight.”

During the shooting day, Myolie appeared in a low cut and short skirt. Many models have sell their bodies to compete for jobs, Myolie said that her reputation is good. When being asked if she will follow Chrissie Chau to release human-figure pillow or toothbrush, Myolie laughed saying “I do not have the courage, leave it to her la. [20/11/09 News] Myolie Wu has no chance for Best Actress, but is getting more exposure

In a snowy situation wearing a wedding dress baring shoulders and arms, but Myolie had no complaints.

Myolie had a happy birthday celebration with her colleagues and staff in Hokkaido.

Although Myolie Wu could take part to go after Best Actress title with “Burning Flame 3”, but because Sheren Tang and Charmaine Sheh have higher votes, she would lose on the number counts. In addition she has earlier on went to Hokkaido for filming, she had to wear a wedding gown during winter season, but she was professional and even said that it was romantic.

Myolie Wu has been very busy recently, she went to Hokkaido earlier to film the drama series “The Morning of Flying Fish in Hanami”. When she returned to Hong Kong, she continue to film commercials and participate in the TVB Anniversary Gala show. As this year’s competition is very high, Myolie being voted as Best Actress for “Burning Flame III” does not seem to be in favour because of the vote counts. When asked about her confidence, she takes the easy way and said “I will continue to work hard, I have participated in Miss Hong Kong Pageant in 1999, I have entered into this industry for 10 years. My target as Best Actress is definitely one of them, but there are other targets as well!”

Actually Myolie is now keen in developing her singing career and breaking into the Mainland market, seriously aiming high, she said “I have filmed one Mainland drama series this year, collaborating with Ruby Lin, and I know that the Mainland market is really big.”

Myolie hugged Chilam happily, wonder if she’s scared Bosco Wong will be jealous?

In addition, Myolie has recently did her 3rd year collaboration with skin care brand ISQUEEN. Besides increasing her pay, Myolie said that she is also very satisfied with her make-up style in her own advertisement, “Because my make-up is very heavy when doing shoots for my album, this time the feeling is much better.” As for interesting things that happened during the filming in Hokkaido, Myolie expressed that the most memorable is to film a scene in a wedding gown in the snow and she even had to bare her shoulders and arms for that. No wonder she exclaimed “It’s so romantic!”

6 November was Myolie’s birthday, she had a lively birthday celebration in Hokkaido. When asked if her rumoured boyfriend Bosco Wong did SMS to wish her, Myolie immediately avoided the question and said “A lot of staff celebrated my birthday with me, and there was one Japanese guy who gave me flowers!”

Besides filming for advertisement, Myolie was busy participating in the TVB Anniversary Gala show. Myolie who was voted as Best Actress for “Burning Flame III”, reckons that she will lose because of the vote counts. But she laughed and said that she would change her goals “Being Best Actress is of course one of my goals, but there are other goals! As for singing, I think I can go on higher heights.”

In addition, Myolie had flew to Hokkaido earlier on for drama shooting. Even though the place was very snowy and yet she had to wear a wedding dress, but she was not scared. Besides having to hug her partner Chilam to gain warmth, she even said “Very romantic!” Myolie spent her birthday in Hokkaido, there were fellow staff crew who celebrated her birthday with her. When asked if her rumoured boyfriend Bosco Wong did send her an SMS to wish her, Myolie avoided the topid and said “There was a Japanese guy who gave me flowers.”

Myolie Wu has been busy recently, she has just returned to Hong Kong from Hokkaido for filming. During the period, she had filmed a wedding scene with Chilam in the snow, although she had to bare her shoulders and arms. As it was also Myolie’s birthday then, the entire crew celebrated her birthday with her. When asked if rumoured boyfriend did wish her via SMS, Myolie avoided the topic and said “Many staff cut birthday cake with me, there was a Japanese guy who gave me flowers!”

After returning to Hong Kong, Myolie was busy shooting for commercials and attending the TVB Anniversary Gala. This year’s competition is more intense. Myolie being nominated as Best Actress for her role in “Burning Flame III”, Myolie admitted that she was prepared to lose but she said “I will continue to work hard. Ever since I participated in Miss Hong Kong Pageant in 1999, I have been in this industry for 10 years now. Being Best Actress is of course my goal, but I have other goals as well!” The goal which she was referring to is singing. In addition, Myolie has also collaborated with a skin care brand ISQUEEN for three years, and she said that her pay did increase.

[16/11/09 News] Myolie and Chilam finally rewarded after contributing many years

Chilam and Myolie quietly putting in efforts for so many years, finally they are rewarded.

Chilam and Myolie Wu who have been arranged by the record company to pair up as a newly couple, after that TVB also wanted them to be on-screen couple. Last night, both of returned to Hong Kong from Japan. This time they went to Japan for three weeks, to Otaru and Tokyo for filming.Many people think that filming overseas is very fun, can enjoy besides having to work, but actually it is not as interesting as one may think. Just like they went to Japan for three weeks, Chilam said to his manager “I haven’t even seen the streets lightings!” Every day start work around 3am or 4am, that is early morning 3am, 4am get out of bed, put on make-up and wash-up will need to wake up earlier. Everybody sees the surface that being an artiste is very glamorous, but have no idea how much they contributed? Of course there are rewards, just like Chilam and Myolie whose salaries are proportional thus it is worthwhile. But those who spent around ten years, but could only be in the entertainment circle having ups and downs, not to mention about filming movies and dramas, but having a small role in the series only having two sentences of dialogues would already make them very happy. I do not know how many “small” artistes they have in the entertainment circle, of course there are many popular celebrities, but quite many of the “small” artistes are also my friends. Seeing them have opportunities, even if it’s only three or four sentences of dialogues, having to compare with just being near the lead standing around, seeing them onscreen will make them even happier!

So whenever I see Myolie and Chilam being so hardworking, I appreciate every performance. That time I saw Chilam and Myolie was when their new duet song was starting to release, just started promoting. Chilam grew moustache because he wants to make himself to look more mature, he said to me in distress “My look is also my trouble, so keeping some moustache hoping to have some change!” Looking at his “child-like” face, his anguish can be understandable!

1) Filming for 《魚躍在花見の朝》 “The Morning of Flying Fish in Hanami” in Hokkaido has ended. Now Myolie is in Tokyo for more filming.

[05/11/09 News] Myolie Wu’s birthday in Hokkaido; celebrates with fans in KTV

Myolie will be in Hokkaido celebrating her birthday

Tomorrow will be Myolie’s actual birthday, but she is now in Japan, Hokkaido with Chilam, Tavia Yeung, Michael Tse filming 《魚躍在花見之朝》 “The Morning of Flying Fish in Hanami”. So therefore, her birthday celebration was brought forward and fans from Mainland, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong celebrated with her in KTV.

The fans gave her different types of cakes. Even though Myolie scared to be fat, but birthday can only be celebrated once a year, thus she did not want to think so much about the good food that is in front of her.

Time flies, this year is Myolie’s 10th year entering the entertainment industry. Thinking back at the time when she was still a little girl, having to go through Miss Hong Kong Pageant and till where she is now. During this period, she experienced from thin to become fat and fat back to thin, filming day and night and now she is both a singer and an actress. She has self-examined that there are still many things to learn at different stages? Having to fall before, feel the pain, work hard and enjoy, thinking about this brought up her feelings. When everyone was singing birthday songs, they could not help but teared. That night she received everyone’s warm greetings and birthday gifts, it had made a very memorable moment for her!

Even though this year I will be working on my birthday, when she comes back to Hong Kong in mid November, she will still be busy filming and promoting the new duet song 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” with Chilam. But having to celebrate with her colleagues is also a blessing, she will continue to work hard and will not disappoint those who supports her! Talking about birthday wishes, the first and foremost is she hopes to be healthy! Successful in her career! She hopes that everyone will support her new drama series 《巴不得爸爸》 “His True Father” that will release end November. Of course she also hopes that everybody will support her second album that is releasing in end November, and to further accept her as a singer!

2) “His True Father” will air on 30th November 2009, 8.30pm time slot. Ron Ng and Myolie Wu will sing the theme song called 《咪话唔就你》. This series will have a total of 21 episodes, not 20 as said earlier.

3) Myolie will be heading back to Hong Kong from Hokkaido on 16th November. Initial return was 14th, but now there is a 2-days delay.

4) Myolie Wu & Cheung Chilam 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” Promotional MV (Neway version) is finally out for preview!

Few “outdated” updates to be said (starting with the latest):
1) Myolie’s second EP 《Love Holic》(愛情狂) will be on sale on 21 November. A collection of 6 Cantonese and 1 Mandarin songs. Theme – love songs.

2) Myolie has gone to Hokkaido for filming of 《魚躍在花見の朝》 “The Morning of Flying Fish in Hanami” on 25th October for 3 weeks. She will be back to Hong Kong on 16th November.

3) Myolie’s mini concert has confirmed to be on 13 December 2009, 8pm to 11pm @ Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Center.

Chilam and Myolie were at the radio station promoting their new song 《一刀兩斷》 “A Clean Break”. Chilam denied that he was dissatisfied with Myolie’s singing being unstable, “Even if someone have things to say, there is no need to say it out, but it is indeed true that it’s false!” He even praised Myolie’s singing have “substance”. Soon the both of them will head over to Hokkaido for drama filming, Chilam laughed “Not sure if we will have rumours? Myolie immediately said “Better not la!”

Later they will be going to Hokkaido to film scenes for their new drama series, asked if they are afraid to have rumours? Chilam said “Should be a little difficult, but if really spread, there is no choice.” Because Chilam is married, and Myolie has boyfriend Bosco Wong, so that’s why there will not be any rumours? Myolie said “Though don’t know if there will be rumours, but should be expected to have, just hope that when it happens, just accept will do.” Myolie denied that she has a boyfriend.

[14/10/09 News] Bold assumptions: Chilam commented that Myolie’s singing is only borderline

Chilam joined Myolie Wu’s record company. Both of them become colleagues, and duet their new song 《一刀兩斷》 “A Clean Break”. There have been reports that Chilam commented that Myolie’s singing is only borderline, and she was very nervous.

Chilam said he has never thought or said like what the reports reported about it. When accepting the interview, Chilam said “I have never thought or said about it.” At the end of this month, both of them collaborate in a new TVB drama series, and will head over to Hokkaido for filming. Chilam laughed “In order to promote the new series, I will have rumours with Myolie.” Myolie laughed and did not respond. Myolie already was prepared “Do not spread rumours when it cannot spread, I guessed already.” When asked Myolie if she feels envy of Chilam and Anita Yuen being so loving, she said “Envy.” Myolie turned to ask Chilam “How long have you two been dating?” Chilam answered “10 years plus, married for a few years.” Myolie said “Wow, dating for 10 years.” When asked Myolie if it is too long, she shook her head and laughed “I don’t know.” Have you tried to have a clean break with someone? Myolie said “Have, if I feel that the other party and I do not get along, I will be very clear to cut off all contacts with one another.”
