[15/03/10 Interview] Myolie Wu: Collborating with Feng Shao Feng to ignore the rumours

Myolie Wu and Feng Shao Feng ignore rumours when collaboration.

On 15th March, Myolie has accepted an exclusive interview with Netease Entertainment. Myolie Wu: You cannot say that, the filming aspects and process in Mainland and Hong Kong are different, we cannot say which side to earn is better.

“Beauty Scheme” is Myolie’s first Mainland drama series. Feng Shao Feng who had previously paired up with her for “The Drive of Life” which caused rumours to spread, Myolie said that both are just friends, they will not bother about the rumours when filming, and is much less worried about “good friend” Bosco Wong being jealous.

Myolie Wu accepted an exclusive interview with Netease Entertainment.

Netease Entertainment (NE): Introduce your role in “Beaut Scheme”.

Myolie: Lui Yue was initially from a noble family, but because her mother is not Zheng Shi, so they were driven out of the palace. Her mother loved to gamble, Lui Yue sold fish for a living since young, and later met Feng Shao Feng who was a general, he was attracted to the gentle and strong Lui Yue. Her brother’s own career, in order to match us, eventually was being misunderstood by the role played by Feng Shao Feng. The wedding day could have been a happy one, but he thought that Lui Yue cheated him thus he became unhappy, of course it was a big reunion in the end.

NE: This is your first time filming in Mainland, which part of this drama attracted you?

Myolie: Over the past few years, Mainland did not have such a big production with a women-based drama, I have always wanted to work with Yu Zheng, he also did talk to me several times, but the time slots made it impossible. In August last year, I happened to have a period of time slots, and thought of coming to Mainland to speak Mandarin to act, just treat it as training.

NE: What’s the difference in feeling when you study Mandarin dialogue with acting for the first time?

Myolie: The first scene was quite nervous, felt very strange at first, but now it feels very good and very smooth. This drama filming was quite good and smooth-going, there was no NG, I am quite satisfied with myself.

NE: You had most scenes with Feng Shao Feng in this series, the previous time you both collaborated in “The Drive of Live” had spread rumours, do you feel awkward collaborating with him again?

Myolie: No, we are quite good friends, we ignore the rumours and hype matters.

NE: Do you have many interactions with Feng Shao Feng? Are you worried that Bosco Wong will be jealous?

Myolie: Because my scenes are mostly with him, there would be more contact. I already said we are good friends, why would he be jealous?

Filming “Beauty Scheme” need not play any motives
NE: “There are many scenes between the women in “Beauty Scheme”, would any snatching situation occur? What will be done to make your role be more outstanding?

Myolie: We all followed the script accordingly, no snatching, and could not even snatch. All the roles in the drama have their own personality and chacteristics, need not particularly think how to be more outstanding.

NE: I heard that the salary of filming in Mainland is more than TVB

Myolie: You cannot say like this, the filming aspects and process in Mainland and Hong Kong are different, cannot say which side to earn is better.

NE: Then is it hard work to film in Hong Kong or is filming in Mainland more tiring?

Myolie: I feel that it is different, I could not go home in Mainland, it is also a kind of torture. Filming in Hong Kong may be a little longer, but I can go home, this is a different situation.

NE: What’s your next work plan?

Myolie: “Happy Mother-In-Law- will wrap up filming tomorrow, I will return back to Hong Kong, and will be filming a modern series in April.

[21/02/10 Interview] Myolie Wu’s patience is her best remedy

Myolie implies that her relationship with Bosco is stable, but does not want to reveal her love matters.

One is willing to wait, another is willing to abide by, love is indeed that old-fashioned! Yet the couple of ‘good friends’ Myolie Wu and Bosco Wong who have been recognized by the public for having a stable relationship, is such a couple that one is willing to ‘implicit’, another is willing to endure. Ever since being reported many times together in the same car and secretly travelling in Japan, they still try to hide their love relationship as much as possible. Having put Venus, the Goddess of Love, aside, their career is their priority and they only concentrate on work, while they wholeheartedly wants the God of Wealth as their partners.

Chapter: Love
It’s not as simple as taking ginger milk. The last time that Valentine’s Day was a collision with the first day of Lunar New Year, dated back to 1953, like the typical love story of Cowherd and Weaving Maiden, they are destined to meet! This Year of Tiger, the Goddess of Love Venus will finally meet the God of Wealth who represents the first day of Lunar New Year, how epic! But the couple Myolie and Bosco, who is clearly not from different corners of the world, deliberately have to bury their relationship underground…

After all, their relationship has been hidden for five years, without turning back Myolie continues with enduring, could it be that we have to wait for more than 38 years before they openly reveal their love relationship? However, she still seemed to enjoy, when talking about this issue, she still doesn’t dare to directly respond: “Oh dear! Valentine’s Day? I would rather celebrate the Lunar New Year, New Year has Jin Deui (fried pastry) and Jau Gok (oil dumpling), even has firework and firecrackers! It’s unlike Valentine’s Day where people only give chocolates which is so dry!” Although she says that Valentine’s Day is dry, but her words is not the same as her heart wants, she actually yearns for a Valentine’s Day gift. Who does understand girls’ hearts?

Unforgettable and sweet first love
When asked Mr Wong if he is ready to send surprise gifts, Myolie said “Which Mr Wong? Mr Anthony Wong? Haha! Need not be him, may have another mysterious man?” Bosco is often referred to being not faithful, yet Myolie can tolerate. But she could not help but revealed her sweet first love, and also hoped that “some people” know what to do “At that time I was studying in Northern Ireland where I met my first love. Even though it was just puppy love, but my boyfriend had good intentions. He was in London, but he would send me a bouquet of red roses for me, and I felt so touched when I collected the roses from my hostel. Price for a gift does not represent everything, it emphasizes into value, a gift need not be expensive. Instead it cares if the person has the thoughts or not, and I hope that someone can understand this reasoning, even if someone made me a hand-made card, I will like it!” When asked if the “someone” is referring to Bosco, Myolie shyly said “I want to say something, even if no guys like me, even if I am not dating, I will still be happy as usual! But I never have any problem with him, we are only on-screen couple, he is also my good friend!”

Chapter: Career
On the road of love, Myolie’s patience is her best remedy; but when talking about career, she definitely doesn’t dare to be a puppet! In the TV circle she can be regarded as popular, she would rather earn less zeros (figures) to fulfill her Coliseum dream: “Being a singer is zillion times so hard as being an actress! When filming series, there are other actors on your side, but a singer is different, when you don’t sing well, people can hear it immediately. Sometimes I’ll ask myself whether I’ve chosen correctly, but if Myolie can have a concert in Coliseum one day and people is willing to hear me sing, there is only one lifetime, so I won’t care, I’ll carry on bravely!” She also said: “Anyhow, for singing I am not afraid to sacrifice the opportunity to earn money, this way I won’t vain??? my life. For singing, I have indeed earned less money! So? I’m not doing it just for money!”

Hopes to retain youth
There was once when because of filming, Myolie had to gain dozens of pounds to gain weight, but it was not a problem for her. However now she would like to go two sides, the fragile side of her would hope to retain her youth “I was really busy during those two years, the food did not taste good too. I would rather film “To Grow With Love” and eat in the middle of the night during that period. I know eating cup noodles is not healthy, but to fill up my stomach as well as to eat fast, cup noodles had became my dinner. If ….can bring me a kind of magic, to retain my youth, I could then have enough strength to handle my job! 唔知系咪人愈来愈大 , my strength now is not as strong as before, means I am becoming older? I do not accept fate!”

In recent years, many fadans have singing as their second career, but to count people whom “I really love to sing”, Myolie could be comparable to Leo Ku “I could not be myself during acting, only singing will be able to show everyone the real me. Everyone thinks that I am innocent, someone who is very happy… … but in fact, I am someone who can think quite negatively, but I would be happy when I sing!”

Refuse to sing fast sexy songs
At the moment, we have Kate Tsui who’s going for the sexy style, singing fast songs, but Myolie unexpectedly chose for the path with different styles: “I can’t be sexy, I am not feminine enough, I cannot accept to show boobs, who will watch? So I chose the generous type of path, so I can wear more!” Being TVB’s biological daughter, Myolie has the chance to win the “Asia-Pacific Artist Award” like Raymond Lam, but she said: “I don’t have so many fans! It’s impossible for me to get so quickly, even if they awarded it to me I don’t dare to receive it.” Being a singer for two years, Myolie gives herself an impressive score: “I give myself a score of 78, up to standard plus! Can do even better, I don’t dare to give myself too high scores, but too low scores will affect my self-confidence, I’m still very new! I’m definitely not afraid for facing a dilemma!”

Eight-characters for the male to accommodate the female
Do Myolie’s and Bosco’s eight-characters clash? According to the scientist, Mak Ling-Ling said that Bosco will love Myolie privately: “Myolie is rather self-centered, while Bosco has more initiative, he will be more willingly to accommodate his girlfriend, to make Myolie happy!” Mak Ling-Ling also said that Bosco who was born in the year of monkey will have a major breakthrough for his career this year, thus he will be busier. Their relationship will be more stable three years later, and may even have the opportunity to get married!

Epilogue: “Urgent” yet wants to do interview
Can Myolie endure this? From the following dialogue can see that on the day when Myolie was rushing to film, in order to finish the interview fast, she even endure going to the ladies. “I will want to finish this set of interview first, going to the ladies later is not too late!” The reporter said “You go to the ladies fist la! Even if doing telephone interview is OK!” Myolie then said “No la! I want to finish this interview, you ask la! I am not urgent too!” This shows that Myolie’s endurance level has reach God’s level!

Myolie held her solo concert earlier on, earned Bosco’s praise.

[11/12/09 Interview] Myolie Wu in tip-top condition to meet fans

Myolie Wu did not think of getting award this year.

Myolie Wu who has just launched her new album, has been very busy recently. She had to continuously promote her new album, and she had to attend promotional events for her new drama series “A Chip Off The Old Block”. Moreover in the upcoming weekend, Myolie will be holding her mini concert. With her being so busy in promotions, she still had to find time to practice singing and dancing, and hopes to meet her fans in her tip-top condition.

The concert will be coming soon, how will Myolie display all her talents and efforts? She said “I have done full preparations for this concert, and I am hoping to meet my fans in my best state. Besides dancing, of course I will be singing on that night. In order not to have stage fright, I had earlier on bought a Hi-Fi, I will practice singing at home when I have time. On the other hand I can also be familiar with the song lyrics, and also I can record when I am singing, and then listen to the recording on how my singing goes, see which area I can sing with more emotions, or in which area I can sing mildly or others.” When asked if she is nervous? Myolie admitted that it is still alright, but she is more worried about the dancing part. She said “Instead I am not afraid of singing, because most of the songs are my songs, a small part will be singing other artistes’ songs. But this time for my mini concert, I will be dancing for about 2 to 3 minutes, now I am practicing really hard, I am afraid I may forget the dance steps, afterall dancing is not my strength.”

After launching her new album, do her fans have any comments on it? Myolie laughed saying “Although I did not directly ask them, but some fans do like it, especially in this album I had personally composed the lyrics of the Mandarin song o f《靈魂伴侶》”Soul Mate”. They felt very surprised after hearing it, and said that they didn’t expect the lyrics to be so well-written, and were very satisfied with the song. Haha!” Myolie then said she has greater confidence in the future.

Afterall entering the music industry for quite some time, Myolie was asked whether or not she had thought of this year end’s music awards (to get award) to be the same as last year whereby she got her Newcomer award, and if she can improve in it? Myolie admitted “Having to enter the music industry for the second year, I have no thought of winning. After all I am no longer in the newcomer category whereby I am only competing with a few or more than 10 people. But now I am already an “old person”, and have to compete with many powerful singers, there is a level of difficulty, so I will not hold too much hope, I will be very happy being able to attend the event.”

[11/12/09 Interview] Not afraid to compare with others, Myolie Wu wishes to release a Rock genre album next year

Myolie has been spending more time in practicing singing and dancing, and is also looking forward to the launch of her second album, and she hopes that she will be able to release her third album next year. What kind of songs will Myolie like to present to her fans for next year? She said “I hope to sing more fast songs, dance songs. In fact I have been hoping to sing more Rock types of songs. Firstly I also like rock and roll, secondly I would like to try dancing and singing at the same time. This is a new try, and I also hope to display a different Myolie in front of my fans.”

However Linda who has also entered the music industry, and has also released her album almost the same time as Myolie. When asked Myolie if she feel the competition has increased? She said “There is always competition, but it is the friendly type, but I will not go and compare, because everybody is different individual, have their own style.” Myolie said that although there are many artistes who are like her having enter the music industry while in the acting industry, but this is a good thing, it proves that this circle has many hidden talents, as one can act as well as sing too. This is something to be worth happy about. “An all-rounded artiste has to excel in all areas, I cannot say that because for fear of competition thus I give up on something. This will not only regress, but also lose the opportunity to showcase other talents.”

Having to form bonds with Chilam again
In Myolie’s new album, she collaborated with Chilam for their duet song《一刀兩斷》 ”A Clean Break”, this made Myolie very surprised. Both come together because of the song and now because of filming, they both went to Hokkaido for drama shooting last month. After three weeks of “seeing day and night”, Myolie admitted that both understand each other very well. She laughed and said “The first time we duet was when both of us did not know each other well, at first I thought that he was a quiet person. But after this Hokkaido trip, he is actually very naughty, always playing tricks on people.”

Myolie said that during the three weeks of shooting period, the set rises as early as 5am in the morning. Because every morning we had to get up around 3am to 4am to make-up, and plus the weather was very cold, it was quite torturing. She revealed that in one of the scenes she had to wear a wedding dress baring her shoulders at this kind of weather, she was like fighting with the cold weather. Myolie laughed “After flying to Tokyo for shooting, I would go shopping when I had the time, and also ate a lot of local cuisine. I would gain some weight after returning to Hong Kong.” Also during the shooting period, Myolie and the crew celebrated her birthday for her! “All of us wenr to eat buffet to celebrate, really very happy!”

[29/10/09 Interview] Going sexy for the first show; Myolie relies on secret weapon to train

For Myolie’s first show, she had been given the orders to show all her talents, singing, dancing, appearance, figure…. everything must be displayed in front of the audience and it is a must to dress sexily! Myolie also revealed that she bought a few secret weapons, and she is trying to train herself, and when time is right, everyone will see a different Myolie!

Myolie will be holding her mini concert on 13 December at Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Center. This is her first concert ever since she stepped into the music industry. She said that she is feeling both excited and nervous, because there are several obstacles for her to breakthrough!

“I have tried singing on the stage, but the longest time I performed was 45 minutes. This time I am using the identity as a singer and have to sing alone for one and a half hours and this is the first time! The company has also ordered me to show all my talents, which includes singing, dancing, and playing organ while singing. I really feel a lot pf pressure.”

Stephen Chan praised Myolie; increased her confidence level
Myolie has performed on stage before, thus she should the experience. But she still has to work hard, “Even though I went on stage when I was in Malaysia, and playing the organ while singing, but actually I did not officially learn how to play the organ. I only learnt a bit from a professional when I was studying. After not practicing for many years, my fingers have hardened! As for dancing, I am not from a dancing background, definitely will have some difficulties! Furthermore, I have to fly over to Hokkaido for 3 weeks filming of 《魚躍在花見の朝》 “The Morning of Flying Fish in Hanami”, so my practicing time will not be much, thus I have started practicing dancing few months back. And I do not have enough time to practicing singing as well, therefore I spent thousand dollars buying an audio equipment, practicing daily at home. I am relying on this as my secret weapon, because my LIVE singing is still not stable.”

Myolie’s first show must exhibit all her talents, laughingly asked her if she included body? Myolie said “It will not be too sexy, but a little sexiness should be alright. I even discovered that having a concert, costumes, make-up, hairstyles, songs etc there is really a lot of things to take care of, really enough to let people headache!”

Then will you invite rumoured boyfriend Bosco Wong as the special guest? Myolie said no, but she will invite him as well as other colleagues and friends, as well as Stephen Chan. She said happily “During TVB lighting ceremony, Mr Stephen Chan praised that I sang well for 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break”, especially I have grasped well for the ending notes. His compliment made me very happy, even driving on my way home, I was happy that I smiled, and of course this has helped me to increase my confidence level for my concert.”

[28/10/09 Interview] Love and work are equally important; Myolie Wu pursues a steady love

Myolie Wu’s new EP 《Love Holic》(愛情狂), actually does her love view have unique merits? Guess she is not just a love holic, but also a workaholic. Mentioning that she will be busy working in December, extremely busy, went so far as words with excitement, and indeed she has a passion for work!

Myolie Wu’s new EP 《Love Holic》(愛情狂) is scheduled to release on 21 November. It will be a collection of 6 Cantonese and 1 Mandarin songs. The theme will be love songs; In reality, is Myolie a love holic?

Faced problems in relationship
Being in a relationship is a very tiring thing which requires lots of effort. However, people usually are willing to waste their youth on this bet without knowing if there will be any returns. They don’t even know is the ending is what they wanted. This is my view on love, so I have also faced many rejections and problems at this area

“But I still want to pursue love, even if meets a setback or feeling unhappy, because there must be something happy that can make oneself in a state of insane mind, just like what others said “A thing like love needs to have few pain to get few love”. While life must certainly have love, moreover in life, how long can one’s love-affair be? I have always naively thought that when I am 50 years old, I will still be able to love my other half deeply, so sweet.”

However Myolie denied that she is crazy over love, she thinks that one can be a love holic, but also can be a workaholic, love and work are of equal importance.

Confessing herself as workaholic
“This year is my second year stepping into the music industry, and will be releasing my second album, I still want to continue to sing, that’s why I have to work harder. But talking about end of year, I will be very busy. In November, I will be filming and promoting my album at the same time. In December will be worse, I will have my mini concert, TVB Anniversary awards presentation, many music awards all going on. Therefore I would like to thank my parents for bringing me to the world that I am a person who is not afraid of hard work, haha. I am aware that I am also a workaholic,. Related to non-working stuffs, I will actually feel that I am quite useless.

Last year Myolie’s debut album 《Evolve》 made her won 4 major Newcomer awards. But this year’s opponents are all the female singers in Hong Kong. Regarding the awards, Myolie said that it will not be her turn, she just wants to sing well, hope that everyone can see that she has worked hard, and does not mind if she can get an award or not. Being a part of the music industry, one will need to dress up beautifully, and attend every award presentations.

Myolie thinks that love is not unilateral, should let go of someone who does not treasure oneself.

Myolie first time dueting a new song 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” with Chilam, she feels very honoured.

Myolie Wu has recently duet a new song 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” with Chilam. It is funny that when both of them collaborated for the first time, has to have “an ending”, the lyrics urges people to let go, might as well have short-term pain than long-term pain, the two of them were unhappy collaborating? Of course not! Conversely, Myolie said that she was honoured!

Diligently practicing songs
“I believe everyone is looking forward to hear Chilam sing again, I myself too, able to work with him is my honour, also hope that he will help me as the younger generation! Actually during recording, I have stolen a little pointers from Chilam, and realised that it is not just singing right then it is a good song. The best scenario is to use the voice to move people, his voice is really full of emotions! However I am still fumbling in this aspect, afterall my singing experience is not much. Moreover singing is different from acting. Acting can use body language, can exchange pointers with one another. But singing only depends on my voice, must word extremely hard to explore and learn.”

Vocal technique being tested
In addition to singing with emotions and having the right intonation, Myolie said that this time her vocal is also a test of her own. “Because this song’s melody tend to get emotional, but the melody is gentle in the beginning before it starts to surge. [26/10/09 Interview] Chilam and Myolie first time as “couple” for duet; To have mini concert

Myolie frankly said that she was pressure when collaborating with Chilam.

Myolie revealed that she will be dancing for her mini concert.

Seeing Chilam’s handsome appearance, it’s believed that many people are in envy. It is difficult to believe that he is already 38 years old. Making a comeback into the music industry, he deliberately grew moustache to be more masculine. His partner changed from Maple Hui to Myolie Wu, both of them has a love song duet 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break”. It is Myolie’s first time dueting with Chilam, and she feels very honoured.

Last year during music awards and winning newcomer awards, Myolie’s acting and music career has developed well. Stepping into her second year in the music industry, her second album will be released in November and will be holding her own mini concert. Myolie frankly said that it is surprising and exciting. But the happiest thing is that she is able to have a duet 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” with Chilam. “Chilam is the co-founder of duets, I am really happy being able to work with him. Knowing that he would be entering our record company, I am already very happy. Everybody is looking forward to his songs. His first comeback in the music industry has my share, I am very happy. Moreover the origrnal music melody and lyrics were well-written, it matches with the young people having love problems.

Having to collaborate with Chilam, Myolie admitted that there was a little pressure. She said “Seeing him entering the music industry again is quite rigorous, picking songs are also very meticulous, and it did benefit me. Even if he did not come out to sing for a long time, but still hearing a voice that touches me, it’s really worth learning.” Myolie also mentioned now when she enters into the recording studio more often, she feels that she has more things to learn. She said “Sometimes singing is not just about the pitch, but how you use your voice to move people, how to put your feelings in it. Maybe Chilam has a lot of experience, when he sings he has emotions.”

Chilam automatically volunteered to write lyrics
Chilam who has a comeback to the music industry, his first duet is with Myolie Wu. Chilam said that 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” mainly is on a break-up story, but actually is to advise people not to indulge in an unrequited love. “At first the producer was thinking of changing the direction, and thought of using the first person point of view or the third person point of view. In the end decided to use the third person to look at relationship, it would be better for the third person to see the feelings thoroughly.” The mandarin version of 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” lyrics is written by Chilam himself, he said that when he first heard the music, the melody was very beautiful, and could not help but to volunteer to try. “When I heard the melody, I found that it’s very nice, and asked the company that I wanted to try to write the lyrics. Who would have thought that after thinking, I could not write anything. My colleagues were rushing me, in the end they gave me a deadline. When the deadline is nearer, I was suddenly inspired, and I wrote the lyrics immediately.” Chilam frankly enjoyed the process, and it is also a challenge to himself, and hopes that he could have more opportunities in the future.

When being asked if he was interested when he had a new partner Myolie Wu, Chilam praised Myolie’s singing is serious. “《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” was our first time collaborating, thus we don’t know each other well. But I find that Myolie is very hardworking and is serious. The second time we collaborated was when we sang for the themesong for Keroro cartoon. But rest assure everyone, we will become more familiar with one another because we will be going to Hokkaido for filming”

Myolie being “overage” singer
In the music industry, many newcomers are still studying at an advanced stage before entering the music industry, but Myolie being an “overage” singer was contended. “In fact, my company all along knew that I love to sing, but I never thought that after entering into the industry for 10 years, only now am I officially a singer. Of course I am still young now, haha!” Myolie explained that if she was to become a singer few years earlier, she would not be as mature as now and would probably waste her opportunities. Adding on that recently there are many artistes who sing for theme songs, which also add on to her confidence. She said “I feel that giving me this opportunity to sing is very good, whether is it physically or mentally, I am more ready. If it was few years ago, I would not be as mature as now, and would not know what I want.” However, with many artistes who suddenly go into the music industry, the competition is big, there is no pressure? “There are many who can sing well, I feel that this is a good thing. It is not that artistes are only limited to acting, singing is an alternative too. I feel that with competition, there will be progress. Everybody is making progress, the audience will benefit.”

Now what “secrets” does Myolie has to attract more fans? “An artiste must develop variously. In my mini concert, I will be dancing, hoping to give everyone some surprise. I have also composed a mandarin song in my new album, I have given to the producer Endy Chow to see, he said that it seems ok, but still have to find someone to read it before completion. (Is it a love song?) Yes, a tragic one, I have experienced it before. The content says that a man may love you, but in reality it is not the same thing. In fact men and women view love differently, girls will probably be faithful, but not the boys. (Which era is the matter?) Wow! So detailed? Haha! As long I have experienced it.”

Chilam said that he will be more familiar with Myolie during filming.

[19/10/09 Interview] Myolie Wu: Bosco Wong is not the right man

She is one of TVB fadans, and has spent her youth years in Northern Ireland capital of Belfast. Once she wanted to be a doctor, and has studied biochemistry at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. But because she was chosen at Miss Hong Kong Pageant, thus entering the entertainment industry. She and Bosco Wong have had their rumours for 4 years. In her eyes, he is just a “rumour”, and is not the man she is seeking for. Inside the VIP room for the event Rubis Chambre De Beaute in Suzhou, Myolie is looking forward to her real love.

Wanted to be a doctor
Myolie Wu was born in a middle-class family, her father is a civil servant. His allowance enabled his children to study abroad, thus Myolie has chosen a relatively less costly school fees in Northern Ireland capital of Belfast. When Myolie was a student at that time, her academic performance was good. After completing her high school, she returned to Hong Kong for sit examinations in order to enter Hong Kong University of Science in Biochemistry. “My results was alright when I was young, because my language is not good when I just arrived in Northern Ireland, some I couldn’t keep up with the progress. After that there was one Hong Kong student who came, she was excellent in all aspects. So I treat her as my imaginary enemy in my heart, and then I slowly managed to catch up with her.” Even though the results were good, but Myolie has some regrets pertaining to her academic studies. “I really want to study medicine, and be a doctor. But I did not sit for the examination. Otherwise today I might be sitting in the clinic, and not sitting here to accept an interview.”

At her first year in University, Myolie and her classmate participated in the Miss Hong Kong Pageant. After achieving 2nd runner-up, Myolie had not decided whether she should enter the entertainment industry. “The professors helped me. They said that they could help me to retain the student status. If I feel that my progress is not that good, I can go back to study. Moreover, my school and TVB are very near, just beside one another.” And this, Myolie started her pathway as an artiste. Two years later, after seeing herself being progressive in the entertainment industry, she decided to drop out of school. “I feel that being in this line is also quite good, and I also feel quite bad to have my name in the school list.”

Rumoured boyfriend is not the right man for her
Myolie’s life is still relatively simple till today, the one that occupy most of her spare time is her 9 cats at home. It is said that people who like cat will usually tend to be lonely. Myolie laughed “Then I must be very lonely! Those who like cat may not be so enthusiastic, and also scared to get close to people. Just like me, sometimes I do not know how to communicate with others, I am scared until it will let people to think that I have any motives or pretenses.”

The reporter asked her if she is really lonely? She answered “In Hong Kong magazines always report that my life is quite fun-filled, but in reality I do not lead that kind of life.” Obviously such an answer is not satisfactory. After several times, she finally faced up questions from the reporters, and talked about her 4-years rumours with TVB male artiste Bosco Wong. “Frankly speaking, he is just my rumoured boyfriend, and not the right man for me. Because there are too many women who like him, and I want a have a sense of security. Need not be wealthy, but must be self-motivated. When we work hard, we will definitely earn enough money. Who does not like money? But it depends on how to earn it.”

There was once a guy who touched her heart, but in the end they broke up. “It’s my fault, I missed it. He appeared not the most appropriate time. Two people meet too early, and maybe broke up because of that. When meet too late, maybe the other half has appeared. Moreover, I was more greedy when I was young rather than now. And will keep thinking if I am not sure if I can meet a better guy.” When asked Myolie what kid of guys can touch her heart? “Mature, interesting, caring, able to take care of me, taller than me, bigger than me, and of course he must also like cats. So how, do you have a good guy to introduce me?”

Chilam and Myolie Wu, what sparks do they have? Both of them are NewayStar singers, and recently duet 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break”. 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” is a break-up song, one of the lyrics will cause sympathy to everyone, 「一刀了斷別要再見，別再記起最深刻畫面，棄掉照片。」 “After break-up do not see one another again, do not remember the memories, throw away the photos.”

Before recording, Chilam discussed with the producer on what state of interpretation, that he and Myolie will break-up? Or the situation when a couple break-up? In thd end, the producer decided to use the latter. When asked Chilam if he has many break-up experiences? He said “I have little break-up experiences! Even if break-up, can still be friends. After seeing one another, maybe I am better la! Haha, moreover I have a good life.”

Spent a lot of effort and time to compose lyrics
Chilam said that besides having to duet with Myolie, they will collaborate in a new drama series. He said “We went into the recording studio together, I record first, after that it was her turn. Mine and Myolie’s voices were put together, and moreover we also sang the themesong of 《KERORO軍曹》 “Keroro”. End October, we will film a drama series, we will go to Hokkaido for filming. Regarding his feelings for Myolie, he said about her “Everyday is so busy.” He said “Everytime I see her, she would be in a hurry, I also did watch “To Grow With Love”, her acting is good, singing also good, are of good standards. hat’s why this time when we collaborated, I really do look forward! Myolie considers herself as modern contemporary duet queen
Having worked with Bosco Wong, Ron Ng, Andy Hui, Vincent Wong, Kevin Cheng for duets, Myolie laughed and says herself as the “Modern Contemporary Duet Queen”. Having to duet with countless people, she said that every time there will be different roles, can have some fantasy about it. This time dueting with Chilam, how does it feel? She said frankly that she was very honoured having to duet with Chilam, and feels very happy, especially she likes his singing voice. She still remembered the first time she saw Chilam, Myolie laughed saying that she was so nervous that she had goosebumps. She said “When seeing him in the recording studio, I was so nervous that I had goosebumps because I did not personally hear him sing before, so I am very happy. When I was recording, Chilam stood outside to see, luckily after I have recorded finish, he praised me. In fact the song lyrics are very sad, when I heard Chilam sang, it made me feel very touched, thus I became more focused in singing that song.” Because Chilam’s expectation is high, Myolie had to equip herself, thus she learned singing from a singing teacher.

Chilam and Myolie were originally unrelated. But recently because of their duet and often seeing each other, has created many sparks.

Myolie Wu was the second runner-up in Miss Hong Kong Pageant 1999. She likes acting and would always try different roles. The most unforgettable role was in 2002 for “Golden Faith” acting as the mentally retarded sister Ding Sin Yan, as well as 2006 series “To Grow With love” as Ho Mei Tin who was 200 pounds. Being an artiste, having to sacrifice, she does not gained the like at first sight among audience. But Myolie likes to take up challenges, and would keep changing for transformation. Perhaps this is the saying whereby, she may be those examples whereby girls take on Biochemistry courses to prove that “girls in Science courses are extremely tough”.

Singing duet to challenge oneself
Out of the doll box, Myolie released her EP last year, and now she is no longer a newbie. In order to challenge herself, she was recently being invited to duet a 90’s song called 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” with Chilam. She said “I listened to alot of Chilam’s songs when I was still studying and many of his duets are classics. I never thought that I will have the chance to sing with him and I really feel very honored! We entered the recording room, at first we were recording separately, I sat in the producer’s room and listened to his recording first. Chilam’s voice really has alot of feelings! After receiving the song lyrics, I looked at the lyrics and felt that it was very touching with the melody. The content is about relationships should not be draggy，must break free and be firm. Chilam sang out with that kind of feeling, it helps to bring my feelings too!” Chilam who was beside her was embarrassed that he smiled, and his right cheek surfaced a dimple which could make people elated, no wonder Myolie was yearning for it.

Grow older become soft-hearted
Myolie who will be 30 yrs old next month, has once placed her love life first in her heart, who was held entirely by love. Growing up has changed her, “Work, friends and traveling have broaden my horizons, this world is big. Family and friends are more important!” Encounters can change someone. Did her good friend Bosco Wong brought about a change in her? She laughed first before saying “I used to be very firm, but now that I grow up, I procrastinate more and more! People grow up, sometimes it is not under your control; experienced more, realised that the time is too little, wish to treasure all, in the end became I am not firm enough, easily soft-hearted! Not just love, I am very easily soft-hearted to my friends, family and my 9 cats!”

Postscript: Food universal
The reporter was at the scene, first she said hello to Chilam, he gestured 2-inch lengths and said “Today i only drank a small cup of wheatgrass juice. I’m really hungry and high and can go into position already!” After that seeing Myolie who have just finished eating a big bowl of noodles , she was putting on her make-up and said “Very full, very satisfying, can go into position now!” Food can be a driving force, whether hungry or full!

Myolie has gone two sides in recent years, her changing image has given her a fresh feeling.

Myolie has gained 20 pounds for this drama series, which caused a stir.

The relationship with Bosco Wong is complicated and confusing, both parties did not admit or deny.

Myolie and Chilam gathered together, may consider pairing them up as couple.
