Myolie frankly said that she was pressure when collaborating with Chilam.
Myolie revealed that she will be dancing for her mini concert.
Seeing Chilam’s handsome appearance, it’s believed that many people are in envy. It is difficult to believe that he is already 38 years old. Making a comeback into the music industry, he deliberately grew moustache to be more masculine. His partner changed from Maple Hui to Myolie Wu, both of them has a love song duet 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break”. It is Myolie’s first time dueting with Chilam, and she feels very honoured.
Last year during music awards and winning newcomer awards, Myolie’s acting and music career has developed well. Stepping into her second year in the music industry, her second album will be released in November and will be holding her own mini concert. Myolie frankly said that it is surprising and exciting. But the happiest thing is that she is able to have a duet 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” with Chilam. “Chilam is the co-founder of duets, I am really happy being able to work with him. Knowing that he would be entering our record company, I am already very happy. Everybody is looking forward to his songs. His first comeback in the music industry has my share, I am very happy. Moreover the origrnal music melody and lyrics were well-written, it matches with the young people having love problems.
Having to collaborate with Chilam, Myolie admitted that there was a little pressure. She said “Seeing him entering the music industry again is quite rigorous, picking songs are also very meticulous, and it did benefit me. Even if he did not come out to sing for a long time, but still hearing a voice that touches me, it’s really worth learning.” Myolie also mentioned now when she enters into the recording studio more often, she feels that she has more things to learn. She said “Sometimes singing is not just about the pitch, but how you use your voice to move people, how to put your feelings in it. Maybe Chilam has a lot of experience, when he sings he has emotions.”
Chilam automatically volunteered to write lyrics
Chilam who has a comeback to the music industry, his first duet is with Myolie Wu. Chilam said that 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” mainly is on a break-up story, but actually is to advise people not to indulge in an unrequited love. “At first the producer was thinking of changing the direction, and thought of using the first person point of view or the third person point of view. In the end decided to use the third person to look at relationship, it would be better for the third person to see the feelings thoroughly.” The mandarin version of 《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” lyrics is written by Chilam himself, he said that when he first heard the music, the melody was very beautiful, and could not help but to volunteer to try. “When I heard the melody, I found that it’s very nice, and asked the company that I wanted to try to write the lyrics. Who would have thought that after thinking, I could not write anything. My colleagues were rushing me, in the end they gave me a deadline. When the deadline is nearer, I was suddenly inspired, and I wrote the lyrics immediately.” Chilam frankly enjoyed the process, and it is also a challenge to himself, and hopes that he could have more opportunities in the future.
When being asked if he was interested when he had a new partner Myolie Wu, Chilam praised Myolie’s singing is serious. “《一刀了斷》 “A Clean Break” was our first time collaborating, thus we don’t know each other well. But I find that Myolie is very hardworking and is serious. The second time we collaborated was when we sang for the themesong for Keroro cartoon. But rest assure everyone, we will become more familiar with one another because we will be going to Hokkaido for filming”
Myolie being “overage” singer
In the music industry, many newcomers are still studying at an advanced stage before entering the music industry, but Myolie being an “overage” singer was contended. “In fact, my company all along knew that I love to sing, but I never thought that after entering into the industry for 10 years, only now am I officially a singer. Of course I am still young now, haha!” Myolie explained that if she was to become a singer few years earlier, she would not be as mature as now and would probably waste her opportunities. Adding on that recently there are many artistes who sing for theme songs, which also add on to her confidence. She said “I feel that giving me this opportunity to sing is very good, whether is it physically or mentally, I am more ready. If it was few years ago, I would not be as mature as now, and would not know what I want.” However, with many artistes who suddenly go into the music industry, the competition is big, there is no pressure? “There are many who can sing well, I feel that this is a good thing. It is not that artistes are only limited to acting, singing is an alternative too. I feel that with competition, there will be progress. Everybody is making progress, the audience will benefit.”
Now what “secrets” does Myolie has to attract more fans? “An artiste must develop variously. In my mini concert, I will be dancing, hoping to give everyone some surprise. I have also composed a mandarin song in my new album, I have given to the producer Endy Chow to see, he said that it seems ok, but still have to find someone to read it before completion. (Is it a love song?) Yes, a tragic one, I have experienced it before. The content says that a man may love you, but in reality it is not the same thing. In fact men and women view love differently, girls will probably be faithful, but not the boys. (Which era is the matter?) Wow! So detailed? Haha! As long I have experienced it.”
Chilam said that he will be more familiar with Myolie during filming.
